Diamond Select Toys Marvel Classic Hawkeye Action Figure

Hawkeye is a character from the Marvel universe that I used to not care for. He only reminded me of the villain Bullseye who could not miss a target when he set his mind to it. However, my opinion changed about him after seeing the Avengers films and reading some story arcs centered around him. He is a hero that surprisingly has a comedic attitude along with some darkness as well. This Marvel Select figure is one of the best depictions for the character in his classic costume, aside from the retro Marvel Legends figure. Not only does it come with some neat accessories such as arrows with the Wasp attached to one of them, but there is also an awesome base of a fallen Ultron drone that truly showcases the impressive work done by Diamond Select Toys. This is a must have for Avengers fans.

I'll make this review short: the figure is great. Like 99.9% of Diamond Select figures, this thing is awesome. Even better is that since this is a reissue you don't have to pay upwards of $80+ to own it. The package includes: Figure, base (with 2 arrows to attach to base), bow, and two loose arrows. One of the arrows has a small model of Wasp attached, but I would have preferred the arrow have Antman as a throwback to the Avengers cover. I understand why Antman is not included as there is a small of Antman included with the Black Widow figurine. As you can see in the image, two of the arrows can be place sticking out of the defeated Ultron and this looks really cool. The base has a of heft to it and the sculpting and detailing are superb, especially for the price. Hawkeye is in his classic uniform and the paint and sculpt look great. While I love the figure I do have some gripes. One of my biggest complaints about Diamond Select figures in the past has been the looseness of joints which can sometimes make displaying figures a pain in the butt even when they have included bases. You can fix this by buying something like the Japanese figure display bases, but when a figure comes with a cool action base it can be frustrating not to be able to use it. While this base isn't a misstep like the Black Widow figure (no pegs...really?) it does only have 1 peg hole for the left foot and I've found it can be difficult to keep the figure in a decent looking pose AND ensure that it doesn't fall off the base. Second gripe is that the molding on the hand isn't tight enough to hold the bow decently; it can fall out with no real effort. The figure also has no real decent way of being posed in a way in which Hawkeye is drawing back with the bow with the Wasp arrow drawn, or even with the included extra arrow. The joints are not loose at all, for now, so that's a saving grace. Overall I love the figure. I can make some things work, like using a clear rubber band to hold the bow in place or jiggering the model to where it displays securely. However, I felt the missteps were enough to keep me from being able to give this a 5/5, though I do think its a must have for Marvel, Avengers, and Hawkeye fans. I am happy to see them reissue some of their more in demand figures so collectors don't have to be at the mercy of price hiking sellers. If you have any questions please ask.

No Avengers fan should miss this awesome figure. Amazing detail and and accessories. The Ultron base he comes with is incredible. The only gripe I have with Hawkeye is that his bow doesn't stay in place with his hand. His hand is wide open, so you might want to use a blow dryer to close his hand. Other than that, its an amazing figure 5/5.

Boyfriend loved it

I'm not a great fan of Hawkeye, but amount the action figures from him this is the best. I like that they kept the classic costume from the comics because nowadays you can only find the costume from the Avengers movie or the cartoon show.

Arrived on time, packaging is great. Unlike a lot of other reviews, nothing was opened and nothing was missing. No loose pieces. I have this, as well as the new Disney Store-exclusive Marvel Selects figure and the 2012 Avengers Movie Jeremy Renner Marvel Selects figure. Together, they make a great display.

So this is my first ever Marvel Select figures. And this is straight up one of my top 3 favorite marvel select figures out of all the 25-26 figures I have. The paint app, the sculpt, the accessories, the height, the built, the detailing of Hawkeye are just flawless. I was amazed with the amount of detailing they put in the base itself. I would have actually preferred ant-man over wasp on one of Hawkeye's arrows to revive the iconic Hawkeye shooting Ant Man on an arrow scene. But that's just an opinion. In other words, NOT a single complaint.

Dies ist wirklich wieder eine gelungene Figur aus der Marvel Select Reihe! Die Figur selbst stellt den klassischen Hawkeye im lila blauen Kostüm dar. Wie gewohnt ist sie gut beweglich und sehr Detail genau. Die Figur kommt mit einem Bogen und ein paar Pfeilen. Außerdem wird hier eine sehr schöne Basis, die den besiegten Ultron zeigt, mitgeliefert. Die Pfeile können an der Basis befestigt werden und geben dem ganzen das besondere Flair. Die Figur steht bei mir nur in der Vitrine weswegen ich keine Aussage zur Spielbarkeit abgeben kann.

Typically, I enjoy purchasing action figures off of Amazon as the products are reflected accurately and they are packaged in decent condition. However, I was shocked to find two accessories missing from the Marvel Select Hawkeye figure that I’ve just opened. There is meant to be a quiver and an arrow with an arrowhead (as I’ve circled in the pictures provided) which are missing from the product I received. This really spoils the enjoyment of the figure and I do hope that Amazon is able to ship me a replacement.
